Reducing Smokeless Tobacco Sponsorship at PRCA Rodeo in Stanislaus County, California

Learning Objectives: Attendees will be able to describe the policy implementation process that the Stanislaus County Local Lead Agency (LLA) utilized to enact a no smokeless tobacco products sponsorship policy with the PRCA sponsored Stanislaus County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo.

Abstract: At the end of the panel presentation, attendees will be able to state the current relationship between rodeo sponsorship, the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), and the smokeless tobacco Industry. Attendees will be able to describe the policy implementation process that the Stanislaus County Local Lead Agency(LLA) utilized to enact a no sponsorship policy with the PRCA sponsored Sherrif’s Posse Rodeo. Attendees will be able to identify some of the financial impacts this no sponsorship policy implemented had upon event organizers.
