Learning Objectives: Identify groups on college campuses that may help with tobacco prevention on those campuses. Compare college tobacco prevention programs to other programs and see what the difference and usefulness both can be.
Abstract: The purpose of this presentation is to provide tools and advise on how to perform successful tobacco prevention on College campuses. This presentation is designed for those who work with colleges, students, those who want to work with colleges, and professionals in the field that would like to find ways to help share their expertise. Through an informative presentation at the beginning, the basics will be set forth to help with opening communication channels at the colleges and other important tips but then will proceed to a discussion based part that will allow those trying to make tobacco prevention programs work on colleges campuses get their specific questions answered or gain ideas from the group and also a chance to share experiences. The main purpose of this session is to give those in the tobacco prevention field the tools to expand into the college setting to work towards achieving our goal of becoming a smoke-free society.
