Key Points: Effective state programs must start with a comprehensive program, strong accountability systems, and local leadership. These can be accomplished by building on existing systems and programs, but also require a commitment to a unified plan by statewide partners.
Educational Experience: The Executive Director and Executive Committee members of the Wisconsin Tobacco Control Board will discuss the development of the Board and key strategic and program priorities. Members will discuss their role and priorities in the development of youth prevention programs, community programs, statewide programs, and policy initiatives. Benefits: Audience members will learn about the steps Wisconsin took in developing, implementing, and evaluating a statewide comprehensive program. They will also see an application of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention framework in the development of a comprehensive statewide initiative.
