Learning Objectives: Learn training and implementation methods for Native American communities.

Abstract: The project involves the evaluation of a culturally- sensitive version of the American Lung Association's N-O-T teen smoking cessation program as administered in North Carolina tribal reservation and non-reservation communities and urban-based active tribal associations. Previous N-O-T studies have been well received by white youth but have involved few Native Americans, an underserved population with high teen smoking rates. The research will reflect cultural sensitivity and involve Native Americans from its inception, resulting in a N-O-T model along with training and implementation methods other Native American communities can use.
